Abstract
Assessment of the accessibility and use of information and communication technology in academic libraries. This study was intended for the“Assessment of the Accessibility and Use of Information and Communication Technology in Academic Libraries in Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic”. This study was guided by the following objectives: To know the types of ICT facilities that are available in Musa Abdullahi library, To know the purpose of using ICT in Musa Abdullahi library, To know the importance of ICT to Musa Abdullahi library users., To know the problems of access and use of ICT in the academic library in Musa Abdullahi library. To make possible suggestions that could be provided to ensure the efficient and effective use and access of ICT in Musa Abdullahi library. The study employed descriptive and explanatory design questionnaires in addition to library research were applied in order to collect data. Primary and secondary data sources were used and data were analyzed using the chi statistical table of frequency and percentage was presented in frequency tables and percentage. The respondents under the study were 50 respondents were used from Musa Abdullahi library. The study findings revealed that Assessment of the Accessibility and Use of Information and Communication Technology in Academic Libraries Based on the findings from the study, efforts should be made by the Nigerian government and stakeholders in funding Information and Communication Technology in Academic Library in other to achieve educational development.
