Abstract Precision agriculture is a comprehensive system designed to optimize agricultural production through the application of crop information, advanced technology and management practices. In Nigeria, there are four major sectors that contribute to the country’s economy, which are petroleum/oil, services, manufacturing and agriculture. The agricultural sector is then divided into crop production, forestry, livestock and fishing. Nigeria is on its way to modern development, branding itself as the“giant of Africa”, the country now needs to prove its potential by raising its standards to a level with other fast developing economies of the world. The Nigeria agricultural sector is one of the most important sectors in the country. Agriculture sector provides food, raw material and employment  .
