Abstract
This research is on Electricity distribution information system of Adewole Estate Ilorin, Kwara state using GIS approach. This project has channeled the new application of new technology like Geographic Information System, which is capable of solving spatial problems in the distribution and management of electricity supply in Adewole Estate Ilorin Kwara State. The imagery of the study area was obtained from GEO EYE Satellite Company at a resolution of 3 meters. A map of the distribution and management of the study area was created and stored in the database created by designing a relational database management system (RDBMS). The imagery was added as a layer to ArcGIS 10.3 environment, the roads and buildings were digitized and the GPS coordinates of electric poles, transformers and buildings were also acquired and added to the ArcGIS environment as point and polygon features. Series of spatial queries were made to solve problems to determine the effectiveness of the system. Digital technology provides convenient and quick access to available information for effective performance.
