Abstract

This project looks at the Influence of work shift and marital status on the anxiety level of workers. Three hypotheses were tested, the first stated that anxiety level will not differ significantly between workers on shift and those not on shift.  The second stated that anxiety level will not differ significantly between single and married workers while the third stated that no interaction effect will exist between work shift and marital status on workers anxiety level. Two hundred and forty (240) volunteer participants were selected through a stratified sampling technique. Spielberger”s state-trait anxiety inventory (STAI) was used as an instrument for data collection. The age of the participants ranged from 25 to 60 and a mean age of 44 years. The design was a cross-sectional survey while the stratifies employed was F-test. All three hypotheses were rejected. The implication and recommendations of the study were made in line with the findings of the research.
