Abstract
This research work focuses on Statistical analysis of birth in Imo state from a period of six(6) years. The research work is all about the birth rate in Imo state for the period of 6 years that is 2011-2016. To tend to study the yearly characteristics of birth-rate in Imo state among the years reviewed. In the study, the data was collected from a secondary source which is rapisms Nigeria’s website. The data are presented in a monthly based style and different statistical tools were used for the analysis. Sex ratio was used to analyze the ratio of sex variation among the years as well as to know the variation of sex within the years reviewed time series analysis ( moving average method) was used to fit the trend as well histogram and least square method were used to forecast future birth in Imo state. From the result of the findings, it is observed that there is more female birth compared to male birth and the sex variation varies by 66% among the years. It is also observed that the birth rate tend to decreases this may be as a result of government and health agencies involved in family planning and maternity health care services..
