Abstract
This project is on The attitude of pregnant women towards the utilization of insecticide treated mosquito nets in Gwale local government area of Kano state. Malaria infection is one of the major public health problems in tropical and subtropical regions of the world, it contributes a lot to both high morbidity and mortality rate among the people living in the endemic area. From the study majority of the people are aware of the causes of malaria, different signs and symptoms of malaria disease and preventive strategies including consistent and appropriate use of ITNs for sleeping by the pregnant women in the area. But more effort need to be done to the enlightenment of pregnant women in the use of ITNS against mosquito bites. It was finally recommended that Environmental sanitation need to be observed regularly, this will discourage the breeding and development of the mosquito in the area. Intensive public enlightenment campaign on how to use ITNs by pregnant women all over the state will reduce the complications and miscarriage of pregnant women in the state.
