Abstract

Uses of reprographic services in academic libraries – case study of Imo State University Library Owerri, Imo state. This study investigates the use of reprographic services in an academic library with a case study of Imo State University Library Owerri (IMSU). The survey method was used in which a total number of 40 questionnaires were administered and 28 were later retrieved which was used for the findings in chapter four, the study collected was analyzed using simple percentages and frequency tables. The analysis revealed that the Imo State University library uses photocopying machines as the major strategy or method used in carrying out reprographic services by the student and the staff for duplicating and presenting of library materials or any other relevant and retaining of staff, inadequate funds, for the provision and also the maintaining of these machines are the major factors affecting reprographic services in academic libraries. Based on the findings and recommendations that were made, it was discovered that training and retraining of staff and provision of funds have been a way of improving reprographic services in an academic library.
