    ABSTRACT

    This project work is on Application of discrimant analysis to predict the class of diploma for graduating students. This research work is concerned with the application of discriminant analysis to predict the class of diploma for graduating students. Discriminant Analysis was applied using statistical techniques to test for the significance differences between the course and the department. Discriminant Analysis (DA) is concerned with the challenge of classification investigators are confronted with this challenge when the make a number of measurements on an individual and desired to place them in either of the groups.

    Onyeagu S.I (2003) findings revealed that discriminant analysis and classification are multivariate techniques concerned with separating distinct sets of objects or observation and allocation new objects or observations to pre-existing defined groups. Discriminant analysis is rather exploratory in nature. As a clarification procedure, it is often employed on a one time basis purposely to investigate observed distinction when correlation are not well understood, clarification methodological are less exploratory in the sense that they lead to well defined rules which can be utilized for assigning new objects. Discriminant analysis and sorting aid us to describe either graphically (in two or more dimension or observations into two or more groups , the emphasis is on developing a rule that can be utilized to correctly grouped an observation to either of the labeled classes.

    Abstract

    This research is on an automated and robust image processing algorithm for glaucoma diagnosis from fundus images using novel blood vessel tracking and bend point detection. The study examined the use of automated image processing in diagnosing glaucoma. The study obtained the data used for the study from a fundus image data base online. From the fundus images the optic disc and optic cup were segmented  based on an image processing algorithm proposed by the study. The optic disc was segmented using a framework that improves accuracy by removing nose and blobs. The optic cup was  segmented by tracking the blood vessel and their bend points which are joined together to obtain an optic cup contour. The result of the Cup-to-Disc-Ratio (CDR) was then compared to the ground truth of the fundus images and it was observed to have high similarity. The performance of the algorithm was also accessed and it was observed to have an accuracy of 98.7%.

    ABSTRACT

    This project is on Design and Implementation of an Automated Inventory Control System for Nigerian Breweries Plc, Enugu. This research work is concise and generally summarizes the activities duly carried out in the design and implementation of an automated inventory control system for NIGERIAN BREWERIES PLC, ENUGU. The system is designed to efficiently handle the movement and tracking of goods. The manual method is labour intensive, costly, and error prone and cannot ensure that the inventory remains up-to-date due to oversight and internal shrinkage. With the proposed new system, inventory can be updated in real time without product movement, scanning, or human involvement. The automated system helps in; (i) the determination of inventory status, (ii)  registration of new stock, (iii)registration of new customers, (iv) supply of goods to registered customers, (v) printing of transaction invoices for customers for transactions that have taken place as well as viewing the available transactions that were carried out at a particular time. The study outlines the main concepts of the analysis and design methodology of the proposed system, compares it to the existing and goes further to explain the design and implementation of the system. The tools used were; Visual Basic 10 and Microsoft access 2007. The fact finding techniques employed is interview, observation, online and library research.

It is aimed at developing a computerized crime reporting and information system, the developed system will provide required information for quick response and accurate prosecution of crime suspects in a court of competent jurisdiction. Those who require this information may include lawyers, police, and judges etc. It will also keep an accurate record of those convicted of crimes to help the criminal justice system have an accurate record for decision making. With this, the government can always know when to grant pardon to repentant prisoners. The data collection of this project work is mainly interviewing from police officers. The implementation of this crime report system project was carried out using PHP and MySQL database for the database platform. In conclusion, the work met all the objectives intended, it is hereby recommended for Central Registry of Criminal Identification department of the police force.
