    Abstract

    This project is on Perception of cybercrime among Nigerian youths (A study of caritas university). The aim of this study was to examine the perception of cybercrime among Nigerian youths using Caritas University as a study. In this research study, we found out people’s reaction to messages depends mainly on how it is perceived. To achieve the aim o the study, literature was reviewed. Survey research method was used in which questionnaire, the major instrument, was distributed to various respondents in the execution of the study. Samples were selected using the systematic random sampling techniques. Chi-square and simple percentages was used in analyzing data. Internet is used as a channel for the perpetration of criminal spamming activities was the finding drawn. Finally, Cyber laws should be made to govern the country’s cyber space and give the nation’s adequate cyber
    security was the recommendation gotten based on the finding drawn.

  • Body mass index and percent body fat of young male adolescents as a predictor of adult obesity

    ABSTRACT

    This project looks into the body mass index and percent body fat of young male adolescents as a predictor of adult obesity. In the recent past, it was thought that Obesity is a disease associated to adults, leaving the young (children) out of it. In studies carried out by Guo et al. (1994) & Must et al (1992), it was reported that adolescent weight is a good predictor of adult Obesity, so also did Telama et al (1997) that active children became active adults. In literature review: The purpose of this project work is to assess the Body Mass Index and percent body fat of male adolescents. methods and procedures: The research work is designed to evaluate the Body Mass Index and Percent Body Fat of young male adolescents as a predictor of adult obesity. data analysis result and discussion: This chapter presents the data obtained in the course of the study which is aimed at evaluating the Body Mass Index and Percent Body Fat of young male adolescent as a predictor of adult obesity. Variables such as age, height, weight, hip circumference and waist circumference were measured and all used in the presentation and analysis. In conclusion: This study was undertaken to evaluate the Body Mass Index and Percent Body Fat of young male adolescents as a predictor of adult obesity.

  • AUDIENCE PERCEPTION OF FEMALE MODELS IN ADVERTISING MESSAGES (A STUDY OF “ALWAYS ULTRA” COMMERCIALS) IN ENUGU METROPOLIS.

    Abstract
    This research work is aimed at analyzing Audience perception of female models in advertising message (a study of always ultra commercials). The research method used was survey method and questionnaires being the instrument. The findings from the questionnaires shows that the audience especially those in Enugu metropolis, now have positive perception of female models with aid of the “Always Ultra” commercials they watch on their television sets, after findings, the researcher recommended that advertising regulatory bodies should scrutinize adverts properly before they are shown on television.

  • COMMUNICATION GAP: EFFECT ON ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE (A STUDY OF NNEWI NORTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA SECREATARIAT)

    ABSTRACT
    This study is on Communication gap: effect on organizational performance (a study of Nnewi north local government area secretariat). This project is aimed at the effect of communication on organizational performance, communication subsist and impact upon everything that is, an event or occurrence worth nothing. It is this pervasiveness of communication that has, with the development of man, animal and the elements developed into a major area of study as well as formidable social force. It is an every day thing because it pervades our very existence.
    Moreover, survey method is used in the design of the study and questionnaire, personal interview, personal observation, official record etc were used to gather primary and secondary data which were used to analyze using statistical technique like simple percentage. The population includes both senior and junior staff of Nnewi North Local Government area secretariat. Random sampling methods were adopted to elicit the responses. The methods used in disseminating information, the effect of such information on staff, how management takes suggestions from others as it relates to organizational policies were also discussed. However, the result of the survey revealed that the organization agrees that communication is imperative in the successful operation of management. In the cause of the research there were some recommendations made. And one of these recommendations was that the way communication process should be use by the members of the staff.

  • News paper reading habit of female staff of Nnamdi Azikiwe University

    Abstract
    This research is on Newspaper reading habit of female staff of Nnamdi Azikiwe University. The survey research method was adopted, and the researcher obtained a sample of 288 from the population of the study from whom data were obtained and analyzed. Data collected were presented in table and analyzed in simple percentage findings revealed that, most female staff of Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital, read newspaper occasionally. The researcher concludes based on the findings that the newspaper reading habit of the respondents is low. The researcher recommends that the management of the institution should endeavour to expand the subscription for national newspapers.

  • POLICE PUBLIC RELATIONS AS MECHANISM FOR IMPROVING POLICE COMMUNITY (IN DUNUKOFIA LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA)

    ABSTRACT
    The project work is aimed at critically examining “The roles of police public relations as a mechanism for improving police community relation in Dunukofia local Government Area”. It attempts at critically evaluating the roles the police plays to improve their relationship with the publics at large. It equally aims at ascertaining the mutual relationship between police and the people of Dunukofia Local government Area. Moreover, survey method is used in the design of the study while the primary source of data collection is the self administered questionnaire. Thus, the source of this study was taken from the target population, which consist of six towns existing in Dunukofia Local Government Area which includes Ukpo, Nawgu, Ifitedunu, Umunachi, Ukwulu, Umudioka both male and female. Systematic Random sampling technique was employed and a total of 180 respondents were administered. The responses were tabled in a frequency and later converted into sampling percentage as the method of data analysis. Hence, the findings showed that police plays an important role in trying to create a good community police relation with the people. It equally adopted the social responsibility theory which focuses on maintaining a two-way communication in order to continuously ensure understanding or resolve conflicts of interests between individuals, institutions, organizations and their publics, the police makes sure there is safety in the society and equally makes sure laws and orders are being maintained and obeyed so well in the society. It is then recommended that the police force of Dunukofia Local government Area must address itself to issues and problems the community considers as crucial and should pay serious attention the community’s yearnings and should equally, at every stage inform the community of the relation behind such benevolence and the community on the other hand, should reciprocate, using appreciative words towards the police kind gestures. The researcher hoped the suggestion of conducting a further study on the topic could be done if possible.

  • THE ATTITUDE OF FEMALE MASS COMMUNICATION STUDENTS TOWARDS JOURNALISM AS A CAREER(A STUDY OF NNAMDI AZIKWEUNIVERSITY AWKA)

    ABSTRACT
    This research is on the attitude of female mass communication students towards journalism as a career(a study of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka). The researcher in this research work focused on the attitude of female mass communication believed that a large number of female mass communication students wants to choose journalism as a career in our country but only a few go into the field to practice their journalism profession. This is why the research dimmed it fit to research into the image of female mass communication students. Research questions are constructed to guide the researcher in her study. Relevant related literatures are reviewed to show that similar research work has been carried out and a theoretical framework has been discussed to support the study. Survey method was adopted and this made it possible for the researcher to select an appropriate sample size of 150. Using appropriate tools like questionnaires and personal interviews, the researcher was able to study population and adopted a simple percentage and frequency table with simple descriptive analysis to explain the table. Hypothesis which are formed from the research questions and tested to enable the researcher know if certain claims she made on this work received statistical support or not. At the end of the study, the researcher was able to find out that female mass communication students have negative attitude towards journalism as a career, also that the female roles as mothers and wives are some of this problem facing female journalists. The researcher also recommended that salaries of the working journalist should be increased so as to motivate and change the negative attitude of female mass communication students towards journalism as a career.
