Abstract
The project title”Impact of taxation on revenue generation of public sector” a study of Odo-Otin Local Government, Okuku, Osun State, one of the objectives carried out was to examine the impact of taxation on the economic development. Taxation is seen as a tool aimed at improving the performance of the economy such as economic growth, reduction of unemployment. It look at work of other author in order to make the exercise richer, their differences were seen in different books and other journal material which made this study more better than similar work carried out in this area of study. In carrying this study, primary data was used by distributing questionnaire and personal interview. The questionnaire consist of Ten (10) questions carefully framed to solicit the responds of so respondents. Two hypothesis was formulated and tested in the study the data was analyzed thoroughly. Findings in this research shows that there are differences in economic development before and after imposition of taxation to reduce the rate of tax evasion and avoidance to enable government provide social amenities
