Abstract
This research work examines the effect of debt financing on the profitability of Guinness Nigeria Plc. Data for the study were extracted from the annul accounts and reports of Guinness Nigeria Plc between (2009-2018) and analyzed using regression and analysis of variance. The design adopted for the study was the correlation research design. Findings of the study reveal there is no significant relationship between short term debt and profitability of Guinness Nigeria Plc, there is significant relationship between long term debt and profitability of Guinness Nigeria. The study recommends that Guinness Nigeria Plc should maintain its short term debts financing since it’s not contributing to the profitability of the company. Also, the company should maintain its long term debt sources of financing and also take into consideration other factors that may affect long term debt financing on the profitability of the firm
