Abstract
This research work focuses on Synergy of the stakeholders towards the development of reading culture in selected public secondary schools in Nigeria, with a case study of Offa Grammar School and Government Secondary School, Ilorin. The study has five specific objectives but the general objective was to access the synergy of stakeholders towards the development of reading culture of students in secondary school by finding out the level of reading culture, relevant information to acquire into the school library, the relationship between stakeholders and management in promoting the reading culture and ways in which the school library acquires their needed information materials. Questionnaire was used as instrument while Tara Yamen calculator was used to select the numbers of respondents. The population of the study was made up of 1915. Descriptive statistical tools such as simple percentage and tablets were used to analyze the data collected from the fieldwork. The sample size for the respondent of Offa Grammar School was 92 and the sample size for the respondents of Government Secondary School, Ilorin was 89. A total of 181 questionnaires were distributed to the respondents and were retrieved. Random sampling technique was used for this research work.
