Abstract
This project is on Evaluation of confidentiality of patient health records among hospital staff. The role of health information personnel cannot be over-emphasized in the confidentiality of patient health records which in recent times has embarked on the incorporation of health record keeping. To this end, a research project was carried out to evaluate the possible interaction and effectiveness of confidentiality of patients’ health records. Design was purely descriptive which deals with the investigation into confidentiality as it affects health records keeping positive. A total number of one hundred and twenty (120) questionnaires were distributed while one hundred of fifteen (115) were collected as the research instrument. In the analysis of the data, the descriptive statistic of the percentage of both positive and negative responses of the questionnaire was calculated and used to explain the views on the health on the health records management. Chi-square was finally used to validate the possible relationship between confidentiality and health record so as to authenticate their possible significance. At the end of it all, the efficiency of confidentiality was significant to health records management at a 5% level of significance. As a result of this, the confidentiality of patient health records in hospitals is recommended for effective health record management
