Abstract
This research work is on Assessment on the implication of poor construction drainage system on the environment in Kogi state college of health sciences and technology, with case study of College of Health Sciences and Technology, Idah. The basic underlying purpose of any drainage system is to keep people from water, to keep water from the people and to protect and enhance the environment while doing so. Drainage is a must component in road construction. It becomes imperative to assess its implication and ways of putting them to check. The objectives were to determine the presence of drainage system in the study area, identify the types of the drainage system in the study area, reveal the adverse effect of lack of substandard sanitary drainage system. Primary and secondary type of structural research design was adopted. The sample size is one hundred and twenty, data collected were presented and analyzed using simple random sampling. Detailed structured questionnaires were administered to both male and female in the school both teaching and non-teaching staff. The results of the survey carried out in the various departments indicated that the school lack sanitary drainage systems and the researcher wish to recommend that the school administration should endeavor to construct sanitary drainage and also the government agencies should ensure that the sanitary drainage system is constructed and maintained.
