Abstract
This project material looks at Attitude of nurses towards research among accident and emergency nurses of University of Ilorin teaching hospital. The instrument is a descriptive non-experimental study by using a close and open-ended questionnaire for data collection to assess the attitude of nurses toward research among accident and emergency nurses in University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital Ilorin, Kwara state.50 copies of questionnaires were distributed to all the accident and emergency nurses and were retrieved and analyzed using descriptive statistic table, bar chart, histogram and inferential statistic of chi-square were used to test the hypothesis formulated. Therefore, the null hypothesis 1 states that there is no significant relationship between the attitude of nurses towards research and their level of education is accepted because the X² calculated value (2.215) is lesser than X²table value (11.075). The null hypothesis 2 states that there is no significant relationship between the level of awareness of research among nurses and gender is rejected because the X² calculated value (13.7692) is greater than X²table value (12.592). Nurses should increase their level of inquiry through research work as this will assist in defining the professional status of nurses, make them expertise in the research field and help in promoting health care delivery to the whole nation.
