Description

Abstract

Comparative analysis between regression and ratio estimators in sampling techniques. This study deals with Comparative Analysis between Regression and Ratio Estimators in Sampling Techniques. The aim of this study is to compare the regression estimator and ratio estimator. The data collected for this study is secondary data. The data collected involve the scores of NDI mathematics and Statistics Students in MTH 111 and STA 111. The data collected were analyzed using regression estimation and ratio estimation. The results obtained revealed that for a large sample size the regression estimator performs better than the ratio estimator. Therefore the regression estimator is more efficient than the ratio estimator. This suggests that an estimate is based on the linear regression Yi on xi rather than on the ratio of two variables, also the variance of the ratio estimate. From this, it can be seen that the regression estimate performs better than the ratio estimator
