Computer based treasury management system.
Abstract
The objective of this project is to design and implement computer-based treasury management software to help improve the manual operations in the day-to-day activity of the treasures. I was motivated by the stress that treasurers go through in other to carry out their daily transactions. Investigations and system analysis were carried out on the old system by methods of personal interview, questionnaire, observation, text and internet were employed in gathering data used to develop this project.“A case study of Fidelity Bank Plc Nekede, Owerri”. The new system manages loans, investments and derivative contracts in a single database. The system offers an integrated and user-friendly electronic environment for recording, storing and managing the wide array of financial information processed by the modern day treasury. The programming language for the implementing program was coded in VISUAL BASIC version 6.0. It is a seven-layer module program. There is still a wide berth between treasurers and TMS, which is a result of resistance offered to the idea of computerization. Some of the cases are ignorance, illiteracy and a general view of computers as a tool of mass displacement thus leading to joblessness. However, most of these thoughts are not true, since there are areas that require only human labor.
