Development of an online registration and result checking system for secondary schools in Nigeria

Abstract The website is a new medium for the transfer of information, services and educational resources through the internet for secondary school. The school site will be able to display information about various activities of the school on the menu list such information include an online application for the new students who want to register in the school, checking of results, school calendar, school curriculum, etc. All these aforementioned will be made possible by utilizing the vast potentials of the world wide web which is an important and exciting part of the internet. The worldwide web consist of a series of web pages such as galleries, educational materials, etc. which makes information access and retrieval very exciting and interesting. The research methodology used in this project research is the SSADM (Structured System Analysis and Design Method). The application was developed with PHP and MySQL. This language was chosen because of its easy syntax and features for developing web-based applications.
