Abstract

This project was embarked to examine the effect of value added tax (VAT) on business performance in Nigeria. The value supplier of a good adds to the goods or services before selling it. The administrative body of value added tax (VAT) in Nigeria Vested on the Federal Board of Inland Revenue, they perform their function of activities through its executive arm known as federal Inland Revenue Service. This project examines three chapters and other necessary terms. The chapter of this project deals with the introduction of the effects of Value Added Tax (VAT) back ground of the study. Purpose of the study scope of the study, limitation of the study, significance of the study, definition of terms and historical research hypothesis. Another chapter of this project covers the review of related literature, introduction, conceptual frame work, Value Added Tax. Another chapter of this project deals with research methodology, research design, area of study, population, sample and sampling techniques, instrument for data collection, method of data collection and method of data analysis. And chapter four of this project deals with data analysis and the result of finding analysis of data. The last chapter of this project covers the summary, conclusion and recommendation as well as reference.
