Abstract
This project looks at Emerging challenges facing office technology and management student in information technology era, case study of Federal Polytechnic Ado-ekiti. The objectives of the study is to analyze the challenges posed by the advancement in information technology on Office Technology and Management students in Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti, to determine the Impact such emerging challenges would have on the productivity of the students, and to identify what special training that is needed by the students to meet these emerging challenges. Primary source of data collection was employed, thirty-five copies of questionnaire were been sent to some selected office management and technology students of Federal Polytechnic Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State. The copies were duly filled and returned. The returned copies were analyzied using simple percentage frequency table. The findings shows that Office Technology and Management inadvertently is a major skilled area that is highly inclined to assist in achieving the demands of modern workplace and creating self-employment. Due to these findings, it is hereby concluded that enriching basic education to incorporate office technology and management skills like e-learning, practical computer, shorthand professional career counseling. It is hereby recommended that solution should be proferred to the challenges posed by the advancement in information technology such as altering of old technology and which leads to some students in confusion, and high maintenance and high cost of acquisition are part of the challenges posed by the advancement in information technology.
