Abstract
This project is on Influence of gender and school location on students’ achievement in computer science in junior secondary schools in Ikwuano LGA of Abia State. Ex-post facto research design was adopted for the study. Four research questions were posed to guide the study and two null hypotheses were formulated for the analysis at 0.05 level of significance. Two hundred and forty (240) JSS2 students from six(6) schools constituted the sample for the study. Instrument for data collection was Computer Science Achievement Proforma (CSAP). Frequency, mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research question while regression analysis was used to test the two null hypotheses. The result revealed that there is a significant influence between the mean achievement of male and female students as well as urban and rural students in computer science. Based on the findings recommendation were made among which is the need for school authorities to ensure that teachers with different qualifications are equitably distributed across urban and rural schools.
