Description
Abstract
Modelling the incidence of stroke under the covid-19 pandemic in Sapele and Ethiope west Lga, Delta state. This study, therefore, examined the association between the reported cases of COVID-19 and stroke in South Southern Nigeria. With a sample of two local government areas (Ethiope West and Sapele) in Delta state, data were obtained on the health situation of stroke patients before and during the pandemic to evaluate the association of the COVID-9 disease and stroke incidence using McNermar’s non-parametric testing procedure. The result of the study implied that no statistically significant evidence was provided regarding the effect of COVID-19 disease on stroke patients. It was therefore concluded that despite the alarming cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria, no statistical evidence proved a significant association between the disease pandemic and the health of stroke patients.
