Abstract
This project is on Primary school teachers familiarity and utilization of the UBE mathematics curriculum in preparation of mathematics teaching. Among the primary school subjects, mathematics has been at the centre of reform in basic education (Awofola& Awolola, 2011) and mathematics curriculum has also been regarded as a very core aspect of mathematics education at the basic education level (Awofola& Awolola, 2011). The basic education mathematics curriculum was introduced for children of school– going age covered by the universal basic education program. The new basic education mathematics curriculum is for nine years of continuous schooling, its implementation started in September 2008 in all public and private primary and junior secondary schools in Nigeria. This is to allow for gradual and systematic phase out of the old mathematics curriculum.
