Abstract
Statistical analysis of problems associated with skill acquisition in Nigeria. This study seeks to provide an understanding of the relative influence of certain factors associated with the acquisition of skills in Nigeria and in other to achieve this aim, the study examined skill acquisition scenario in Sapele metropolis. A primary source of data was collected for this study through the method of personal interview and questionnaire administration to the selected respondents of interest. The data obtained using questionnaires was analyzed using the multiple binary logistic regression analysis. The result of the study indicated a very significant model which explains that age, income level and income satisfaction, education are statistically not significant, implying that they don’t contribute to the factors influencing skill acquisition. the odds of an individual acquiring relevant skills is increased by a factor of 19.885 if the individual is male compared to female adjusting for the effects of the other predictors in the model. The odds ratio of people acquiring entrepreneurial skills if due to occupation was 31.4 implying that the odds of an individual acquiring skills due to being unemployed is increased by a factor of 31.4 when compared to employed individuals
