Abstract
Statistical investigations on the passions of students in statistics department and its relationship with their studies. The study seeks to investigate how students’ passion relates to their studies in Statistics Department in Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara. In achieving this aim, the study involved the use of questionnaires in data collection and the data were analyzed using simple descriptive tools such as the simple bar chart and the chi-square test analysis of independence. The result indicated that indicates that most of the students spend more than two (2) hours of their time studying and busying with their phones, also most students have passions for football/sport, phones, betting, gossiping, and cooking has lower credit. In addition, most students who have passions for gossiping/gisting has lower credit. More importantly, time spent on passions is independent of their passions. The result of the study indicated that time allocated to various passions among students is random and as such, there is no specific time allocated for a certain passion
