Abstract

The effect of budgeting shift on electronic accessibility in a library. This study was intended to examine EFFECT OF BUDGETING SHIFT ON ELECTRONIC ACCESSIBILITY IN A LIBRARY. This paper focuses on the effect of the budgeting shift on electronic accessibility in a library, including requirements or considerations when budgeting, technical services in a consortium, and best practices in budgeting. This study was guided by the following objectives; Determine the impact of budgeting on the accessibility of electronic materials in libraries. Ascertain how budgeting can be used to foster accessibility of electronic materials in libraries. To identify the problems faced by the library management in planning a budget for electronic and other services. The study employed descriptive and explanatory design questionnaires in addition to library research applied in order to collect data. Primary and secondary data sources were used and data were analyzed using the chi-square statistical tool at a 5% level of significance which was presented in frequency tables and percentage. Recommendations were made based on the findings for further research..
