Abstract
This project focuses on the impact of Microfinance Institutions (MFIS) in the development of small scale industries. The research design adopted is the survey method it relies on questionnaires and the review of some related questions. The population size is about 150 micro and small scale industries which largely include owners of supermarket, electronics, pharmacies, business centres, pure water companies and paints companies in the metropolis. The following conclusions were reached based on those on these finding as i. There were relationships (impacts) between the microfinance institution and small and medium scale enterprise to transform to economy growth and consequently to economic development in Nigeria. ii. There is the need for apex bank (central bank of Nigeria) to review her guideline in relation to no interest ceiling, single oblique limitest on MFBs
