Abstract
Media ownership and the influence on editorial policy – case study of Annoucer, Enugu. The pace of social development everywhere seems to be quickened by the important roles mass communication play in our society. Unfortunately, media ownership and the influence of editorial policy is on the increase and it has now posed a serious concern to enlightened Nigerians. The study aims to find out why media ownership demands editorial policy and if the practice influences the selection of news to be aired. A survey was employed in the study responses were coded in percentages and presented in tables. The result of the study shows the lack of financial stability is the major reason modern journalists demand and accept the editorial policy.
