Description
Abstract
This project looks at the precolonial history of Ngbo people. This is an attempt to probe into a study of the pre-colonial History of Ngbo people. Ngbo people is one of the largest clans in the present Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. The study of this kind has been carried out either by a Nigerian or foreigners, but none has been able to talk of Ngbo people precisely. Scholars keen more interest in the study of popular clans than this type because many individuals think Ngbo people lack historical records and not much people knew about Ngbo. Thus, it is to meet this kind of need that I am writing on this topic. The first chapter of this work examines: Introduction, Statement of the Problem, Objective of Study Scope of Study, Literature Review, Clarification/definition of concepts/term, and sources and methodology. The second chapter deals with the geographical location, climate condition and vegetation, topography and landform, land and people of Ngbo and the origin, migration and settlements. The third chapter deals with the political/administrative system of Ngbo people (i.e political system, economic activities and socio-cultural institutions). The four deals with the Ngbo relations with her neigbours (i.e political relations, socio-economic relations and socio-cultural relations). The five has the conclusion and bibliography.
