Abstract
This research focuses on Construction of a Microcontroller based electrical appliances control via serial port. Micro-controller based systems are intelligent circuit programmed to perform stipulated functions under the designed conditions. The electrical and electronics devices which are manually operated have been found to be defective and full of gross error. Consequently, micro- controller based systems are stationed for automatic control. Thus, micro-controller as one of the fastest processing and intelligent instruments was integrated into the circuit and interface achieve accuracy in processing as well as data display and storages. Hence the system is digitally implemented using micro-controller for better creativity. This model is designed for use in residential homes. This will ease resident(s) the stress of manually regulating the status of the household appliances. The action period of the appliance is enable using decoded programs. More apparently, the safety associated with the electrified residents against burglars is guaranteed. This automatically regulates the period of electrification to avoid unnecessary accident that could be caused by the habitual negligence of humans.
