Abstract
This project is on The effects of environmental pollution in our society. The environment has been hunted by a myriad of community disturbances, interruptions claims, and counterclaims of gross environmental abuse, degradation and neglect, and antagonisms, with their attendant loss of lives and properties. The main objective of this study was therefore to describe environmental pollution: types, effects/pollutants and environmental areas affected, in some areas in Nwangele local government area of Imo State. The descriptive survey design was used and 300 questionnaires copies served on respondents and results showed a high positive relationship. Data analysis consists of frequency tables and percentages. The findings showed a high level of environmental pollution of the communities and caused by the activities of man, company, and government actions, including health education programmes, strict adherence to and enforcement of environmental protection, legislation, policies and rules were recommended.
