A comparative analysis of the manual and e-voting SUG election at Delta state polytechnic Otefe-Oghara. This study examined the election procedures involved in the SUG election in 2020 and 2021 respectively and the study, therefore, used the Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara as a case study with the use of structured questionnaires the necessary data were generated and analyzed using percentage and chi-square analysis. The result of the study indicated that the practice of electronic voting discourages the act of influencing voter’s choice during elections and found that students are not intimidated and threatened to vote against their wish in the 2020 SUG election and students allow their votes to be bought with money or gift items and also Aspirants could no longer campaign on the election day. it was found out of the study that the poor power situation in Nigeria affects negatively the successful implementation of e-voting in the polytechnic. It was also discovered that poor internet connectivity can hinder the participation of students in the E-voting system and students strongly disagree that in the 2020 SUG election process, there was an absence of genuine and electronically generated voters register. The study also revealed that conflicts between aspirants or aspirants’ support groups were not possible in the 2021 SUG e-election and that the practice of electronic voting system eliminates student election violence and it was also discovered that the gathering of students voters and cheer that will eventually lead to fighting was discouraged in the 2021 SUG election. More so, it was found that the 2021 E-voting system does not reduce the occurrence of election violence and election malpractice..
