Abstract
The word hotel means an establishment that provides lodging and usually meals, entertainment and various personal services for the public. The hotel industry is an important special providing sector in many countries especially those attracting a large tourist trade. Evidence of hotels and the hospitality industry has been recorded as far back as biblical times when Mary and Joseph arrived in Bethlehem during the census. As the bible depicts, Mary and Joseph were refused accommodation because there was no room in the inn. Since the beginning of time, people have travelled for commerce, religion, family, health, immigration, education, tourism, and recreation. Because of these, there has been rapid growth and development in the hospitality industry which includes the growth of hotels.
