Abstract
this project is on Bank recapitalization imperative implications, options and strategies for banks. The research topic, bank recapitalization imperative implications, options and strategies for banks was embarked upon to x-ray the fragile nature of the banking system, stop the boom and bust cycle that characterized the sector and evolve a banking system that not only could serve the Nigerian economy but also the regional economy. This research work was also conducted to know if the new minimum share capital is capable of solving the increasing distress syndrome in the banking institutions and the strategies for recapitalization can enable banks to comply to the policy adequately. Data for the research have collected both from primary and secondary data. The primary data were collected through questionnaires. Secondary data were collected from magazines, textbook, journals and other related material. Simple percentage was used to analyze the responses while chi-square (x2) technique was employed for testing the research hypothesis formulated for this research. The data were analyzed with some of the findings of the research works. Based on the findings, conclusions are drawn after a thorough examination of the finding from the industry, thus, the researcher hopes that an honest but difficult job has been done.
