Abstract
Competitive bidding is the process of issuing a public bid with the intent that companies will put together their best proposal and compete for a specific project. By law, this process is required for every government agency that issues a bid. Competitive bidding creates a transparent environment that is open and fair. The subject matter of this study is the competitive bidding and administration of contract in public sector. A case study of the ministry of finance, Imo State, Owerri among the objective is stated in chapter one of the study. In order to attain the objectives, a research question was constructed to enable the research to collect relevant information in the subject matter. The researcher review related literature and some facts drawn from the work in chapter two. Chapter three welcomes the research methodology, the population and size, etc. Chapter four contains the researcher’s presentation and analysis of data. Finally, chapter five is all about conclusion, summary and recommendations.
