Design and implementation of a web-based parcel tracking system for courier companies

Description

Abstract This project was carried out to address the inherent problems encountered by courier companies. The manual process involved in the management of cargo was critically examined and the flaws documented. Delays and errors are some of the challenges faced by the company. These issues and more are what this research aims to proffer solutions to. This research project emphasizes the need to automate the crude, obsolete and manual methods used by the courier company in the distribution network or supply chain. The research methodology used in this project research is the SSADM (Structured System Analysis and Design Method). The application was developed with PHP and MySQL. This language was chosen because of its easy syntax and features for developing web-based applications.
