Abstract Security of lives and properties has been of great interest for the universe since the inception of the 21st Century. Insurgency attaches to civil rights of federalism has caused destructive events in the country and world at large. This research work aimed at developing a software application, a web-based application housed by a browser programmed using a framework called Flask python. The program should be able to detect an object in motion. This work “Motion detection using python flask” could also be further improved by using it for face detection. The system could have pre-store face images that when it captures an image it loops through pre-store images and tests for similarity if found are displayed. i.e. it could serve as a security system for machines and systems.
