Design and implementation of allocation of supervisors to SIWES students

Abstract This project was centered on the design and implementation of allocation of supervisors to SIWES students. This study was undertaken majorly to provide a platform that will manage the IT activities for both students and school supervisors during and after the students” IT/SIWES attachment. Specific objectives of the study are: To allocate supervisors to IT students. To enable school supervisor to monitor the progress of the students during their IT/SIWES training, To enable students and supervisors to communicate regularly, this, in turn, enables the student to provide feedback regarding problems encountered during his/her training program, To enable the lecturer/supervisor determine if the student is gaining relevant work experience during the IT/SIWES training. The research methodology used in this project research is the SSADM (Structured System Analysis and Design Method). The new system was designed using PHP programming language. This language was chosen because of its easy syntax and features for developing web-based applications.
