Design and implementation of an enhanced electricity billing and management system

Abstract Electricity Management System is a system that manages the billing, production, and consumption of electricity. The existing electricity management systems face many problems which include customer service not always available, no update on the availability of electricity, does not support broadcast SMS/email messaging to customers. So many companies and organizations spend much money on other power sources because they do not have a good budget and plan on what they send on electricity. The main aim of this system is to develop and enhance the electricity management system. Other objectives include to develop a system, which is equipped with notifications/updates on power availability, supports broadcast SMS and Email messaging to customers, and provides reliable customer care, whereby customers can express their opinions and lay their complaints. The methodology adopted for this research work is the object-oriented methodology (OOP). The coding was done using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, PHP, while MYSQL as the database. At the end of this research, we were able to develop a system that is able to notify/update customers on power availability, send broadcast SMS/Email messages to customers and provide reliable customer service.
