Development of an expert system for awareness of HIV/AIDS

Description

Abstract This work design and implementation of a system for awareness of HIV/AIDS. With the advancement of information technology, the computer is considered to be one of the most powerful tools for information dissemination and creating awareness. HIV/AIDS has become a threat to the entire human race and since there is no scientific proof for any medical cure for the disease, the only effective means of fighting HIV/AIDS is protection and awareness. The database was designed and implemented using MySQL as a database platform for storing knowledge. Hypertext mark-up language and JavaScript were used to develop both the user and administrator interfaces while PHP was used as the server-side scripting language to implement the functionality of the system. The system was implemented on the WAMP server. The advantage of this system is to give awareness on HIV/AIDS, since its one the disease that people are having problems with because of fear of stigmatization and it was noticed that humans relate freely with computers than a human expert. This System should be made available for people so that it will serve as a means of awareness of the disease. .
