Abstract

Effect of students population explosion on the provision and utilization of library resource for students of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri. This research work, Effect of Students Population Explosion on The Provision And Utilization Of Library Resources by students of Nigeria Polytechnic is aimed at providing the first information about education/training as a tool for Effective management of library and Information Science. Generally, the history of Library and Information Science professional education in the developing countries of the world foundation of library and Information science has encountered the effect of students population explosion on the provision and utilization. The objective of this study was to specifically determine the importance of the effect of students’ population explosion on the provision and utilization and to assess how the Library and Information Science professional education has affected the effective or ineffective workings of the management of library and Information science. Related Literatures were reviewed by the researcher. Primary sources were collected through oral interviews, questionnaires, and observations while secondary sources were collected through library and information science texts, literature reviews and journals. Reasonable recommendations that will help in the development and improvement of Effect of Students Population Explosion on the provision and utilization, so as to ensure it makes great positive impacts on the Effective workings on the management of library and information Science were recommended by the researcher.
