Abstract
The study explores the reality and prospects of YouTube usage in Nigeria (a study of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku). The study made use of the survey research design. The study consisted of 400 respondents but the researcher retrieved 390 copies after the questionnaire was delivered to the respondents. The primary instrument of data collection was the questionnaire. Data collected were analyzed and presented in tables using simple percentages. The findings of the study revealed that students of the polytechnic community have access to the internet and also have access to YouTube videos, that YouTube videos affect daily school activities of the students, and that YouTube videos reflect what happens in the society and in return increase the chances of learning. The study further recommended that YouTube videos should be used to promote societal norms and values, more videos promoting good learning and academic excellence should be produced and schools, parents and guardians should collaborate and organize seminars to educate especially in the polytechnic community..
