Abstract

This research work is centered on the factors affecting administrative and financial management in the local government system with a case study of Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area, Imo State. The major objectives of the work are to examine existing financial arrangements relevant to a local government with special reference to sources of income and offer suggestions on how to improve revenue generation in the local government. Research survey design was used to get all the information needed in this investigation. Primary and secondary methods were used in collecting data. Based on the findings, it is obvious that delay of statutory allocation by the federal and state government affects local government finance and administration. The researcher recommended that for the proper administration of local government and financial problems reduced at the local level of government, the federal government should not delay the allocation that is meant for local governments.
