Abstract
This project topics focuses on Factors influencing high rate of abortion among women of childbearing age in Saki, Saki West Local Government Area, Oyo State. This study was carried out to assess the factors influencing the high rate of abortion among women of childbearing age in Saki, Saki West Local Government Area, Oyo State. A non-experimental, descriptive design method was used and a convenience sampling technique was used to select 100 respondents. A self-developed structured questionnaire containing 21 questions divided into 3 sections was used to obtained data. Data were collected and analyzed using frequency tables, bar charts and chi-square. The face and content validity of the instrument was tested, shown to an expert in the field of research as well as the project supervisor. Hypothesis were tested on their educational status and marital status. One of the hypotheses was accepted while the other was rejected. The formal one says there is no significant relationship between the educational status of women of childbearing age and their awareness of the consequences of abortion was accepted because the table value X2tab16.9190 was greater than the calculated value 10.3326. The later one which is hypothesis 2 says that there is no significant relationship between the marital status of women of childbearing age and their likely reason for abortion was rejected because the calculated value20.9644 was greater than the table value X2tab 12.5916.
