CHAPTER ONE

1.0 Introduction

Both public and private sector in Nigeria have relied extensively and entirely on profits for their survival and in return to maximize shareholders wealth. The accomplishment of these objectives depends on factors like; the introduction of modern technology, dedicated and efficient management, highly skilled and experienced manpower, adequate knowledge and understanding of the economic system as well as the ability to effectively compete with the other competitors. However, the objectives have not been fully achieved.
