Abstract

This project is on Impact of social interaction among learners on academic performance in literacy centers. A case study of Kumbotso local government area, Kano state. In this era of globalization and technological revolution, education is considered as the first step for every human activity. It plays a vital role in the development of human capital and is linked with an individual’s wellbeing and opportunities for better living (Battle& Lewis, 2002). It ensures the acquisition of knowledge and skills that enable individuals to increase their productivity and improve their quality of life. This increase in productivity also leads towards new sources of earning which enhances the economic growth of a country (Saxton, 2000). Population of the study which consists of 200 adult learners, 100 learners were used as sample of the study using random sampling technique, also self-administered questionnaire was used in data collection procedure in the sense that the researcher administered the test–items with help of research assistants and then collected them back for analysis. The research analyzed the question using frequency distribution percentage. The responses recovered were quantized and broken down into tables. Each table was analyzed and it’s percentage worked out which they are presented in chapter four while chapter five consist of summary, conclusion, and recommendations.
