Hypotheses were tested using chi-square at 0.05 level of significance The findings from the research showed that the level of knowledge of mothers on the causes and effects of diarrhoea among under five children was good (95%), and 77% of mothers had a positive attitude while 23% had a negative attitude towards the causes and effect of diarrhoea. And also the sources of information mothers rely on to acquire knowledge on the causes and effects of diarrhoea were healthcare workers (64.6%). In Conclusion, it can be deduced that the majority of the mothers had good knowledge and a positive attitude on the causes and effects of diarrhoea. However, the misconception that teething causes diarrhoea is still very rampant among mothers.
