Abstract

This research is on Management of Foreign Exchange in Nigeria by CBN (2006-2010). Problem and prospects. The need to manage foreign exchange become imperative as a result of this equilibrium in the foreign exchange market caused by inadequate supply of foreign exchange management is a conscious attempt to harness foreign exchange resources deploys them to service the economy so as to prevent the economy from experiencing shocks due to foreign exchange volatility. The central focus of research is to examine how CBN through his policy measures manages foreign exchange in the country. This work will be discussed based on five chapters, chapter one will focus on the background of the study objectives of the study, significance and statement of hypothesis. The scope of study and limitation of study. Chapter two will consider the review of other scholars and authors on the subject matter, and other conceptual issues in foreign exchange. Chapter three will focus on the research method and data collection, while presentation and analysis of data will be under chapter four. Chapter five will contain the summary, conclusion and recommendation. Based on the objective of the study the findings reveal that the role of CBN in managing Foreign Exchange is not impressive. The impact of exchange rate policy in managing foreign exchange is not encouraging. The activities of panel market operators negatively affect the effective operation of the foreign exchange management.
