Abstract

This project study focuses on Role of women in livestock management and production, a case study of Garko local government area. This study focused on role of women in livestock production and management in Garko Local Government Area of Kano. Three areas were randomly selected from the areas. The purpose of the study was to assess the role women played in livestock production and management in Garko Local Government Area. The objectives of the study were to examine the types of animals that are kept by women in the study area, determined how women benefit from livestock production and management, examine the constraints and to determine how livestock production contribute to women economically. The primary data were collected from 60 respondents using a structured questionnaire. The statistical tool used to analyze the data was descriptive statistics.
