Abstract
This project is on Roles of health information management on disease control in Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State. The study examined the roles of health information management in Disease Control in Offa Local Government as a case study. The objective of this study is to know the roles of Health Information Management on disease control in Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State. The project adopted descriptive survey research design. The study population consisted of 100 Health workers and educated elite, From this, a convenience random sampling selection method was used in selecting 100 Health workers and educated elite . A total of 100 copies of questionnaires were administered. The response rate achieved was 80 copies. The instrument used for the study was structured questionnaire which contains two sections. The data obtained were analyzed using percentage distribution to answer the research questions posed in the study. The findings show that the total respondents both the health workers and the educated elites in the community have the knowledge of disease control and roles of health information management professionals on disease control are a compilation of statistics on health problems. Local government should employ more qualified health information managers to cover all the health facilities and logistic support should be given to various surfaces in offa local government area so that the health workers (HIM) can perform better in their duties for the achievement of optimal healthcare delivery.
